چکیده

Randomized, controlled, multicenter trial at 45 centers in Austria, Germany, New Zealand, and the United States between February 2017 May 2020 (Shockwave Medical Peripheral Lithoplasty System Study for PAD, Santa Clara, California [Disrupt PAD III]). There were 306 patients with moderate or severe calcification a femoropopliteal artery who allocated randomly to vessel preparation intravascular lithotripsy (IVL) (n = 153) percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) followed by definitive treatment drug-coated balloon provisional stenting. Procedural success (66% vs 50%) percentage of lesions residual stenosis no more than 30% 52%) significantly greater IVL group, whereas flow-limiting dissections occurred frequently PTA group (1% 7%) after dilatation (5% 17%) stent placement 18%) group. is an effective strategy that facilitates endovascular calcified arteries.

Risk Factors for 30-Day Hospital Readmission in Patients Undergoing Treatment for Peripheral Artery Disease.

Early hospital readmission among vascular surgery patients is a focus of Medicare's new reimbursement structure. We aim to identify factors associated with 30-day readmission after lower extremity interventions to treat peripheral artery disease (PAD). Retrospective analysis of 174 consecutive patients discharged from the vascular surgery service between January 1, 2011, and July 31, 2012, afte...

Buccal Fat Pad for Management of Cerebrospinal Fluid Leakage Using Endoscopy: A Randomized Clinical Trial

Background and Aim: Several surgical techniques have been so far used for treating Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) leakage (rhinorrhea) such as using abdominal fat or fascia lata, but these methods have complications such as the presence of several surgeons in variable fields in the operating room or cosmetic complications for donors such as the surgical scar. This study aimed to investigate using bu...

Endovascular or open repair strategy for ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm: 30 day outcomes from IMPROVE randomised trial.

OBJECTIVE To assess whether a strategy of endovascular repair (if aortic morphology is suitable, open repair if not) versus open repair reduces early mortality for patients with suspected ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm. DESIGN Randomised controlled trial. SETTING 30 vascular centres (29 UK, 1 Canadian), 2009-13. PARTICIPANTS 613 eligible patients (480 men) with a clinical diagnosis of...
